So, Where Do I Start…?

There are so many things I want to share and talk about, and I’d love to hear from you too! Drop a comment below—let me know what you’d like to know about me, share anything you think might interest me, or suggest topics we could chat about.

Big News: I Won a Scholarship! 🎉

First up, I’m still in shock… but I won a scholarship for a 12-month leadership program! When I received the email the other week, I was completely blown away.

A little background—back in January, I applied for a program through AgForce Training, funded by the Queensland Government’s Women in Industry grant. This program is specifically designed for women in agriculture, offering tailored leadership training, one-on-one mentoring with experienced industry leaders, and networking opportunities to build confidence and expand industry contacts.

We had our first meet-and-greet last week via video call, and they mentioned that around 60 applications came in for just 15 spots. So, to say I’m grateful is an understatement! Over the next 12 months, I’ll be attending face-to-face training in Brisbane, attending online training and working one-on-one with my allocated mentor. I’m beyond excited to learn from some incredible leaders in the industry. Stay tuned—my first training session is at the end of this month!

Back to Study Mode 📚

Speaking of learning, I’ve also just started my Diploma in Agriculture, and my first unit is Managing Workplace Health & Safety Processes. I’ve done about three hours so far, and my brain is already on overload! So, I need your help:

1️⃣ How do you manage studying and keep your brain fuelled?
2️⃣ Has anyone done WHS processes before? Got any tips or tricks?

It’s been about six years since I was last in full-time study (for my helicopter license), so I’m definitely feeling the adjustment!

IVF Journey Begins ❤️

On an even more personal note, we’ve started arranging our IVF journey with an amazing specialist in Townsville. Fingers crossed that 2025 is the year we become parents—this time to a two-legged baby😉, not just our four-legged crew.

A New Addition to the Pack 🐶

Speaking of four-legged babies, we’ve got a new team member joining us! I recently purchased a six-month-old working collie pup, Lilly, from a friend I met through a previous job. She should be arriving at the end of the month, and I’m super excited to bring her into the fold.

Life on the Station 🌾

It’s been busy as ever around here—
Flood fencing after the February rain (now that the river has gone back down… fingers crossed for more to bring it up again!).
Lick runs to top up cattle supplements.
Mustering feeder steers—we’ll likely start processing them tomorrow morning. With the heat and humidity ramping up, it’s all about working smart in these conditions.

Last week, we hit around 40°C again—absolute scorcher! Nothing beats cooling off in the creek with the dogs on days like that.

Your Turn!

That’s a little update on what’s been happening in my world. Now, I want to hear from you!

What’s been going on in your life lately?

Drop a comment—I’d love to chat!
