 Welcome to Sunrise 2 Sunset: Chasing the Dream!

Hi, I’m Dannielle - wife, daughter, sister, helicopter pilot, and country lady. I live and work on a cattle station North of Richmond, Queensland, but I grew up on my family’s cattle property North of Rockhampton. I’ve always had a deep love for the land, and it’s shaped who I am today.

I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a blog for many years, but I always thought I didn’t have anything worth sharing. Recently, though, as my husband and I navigate the challenging journey of trying to become parents, I’ve realized that I do have plenty to say. There are highs and lows, struggles, and moments that others might be able to connect with. So here I am, sharing my story with you.

The purpose of this blog is to share who I am, where life started for me, what has shaped me into the woman I am today, and the journey I’m on to hopefully becoming a mother. I want to connect with others, share my experiences, and let you know that you’re not alone if you're going through something similar.

On this blog, you’ll get a personal glimpse into my life on the land—living and working on a cattle station, facing the struggles of rural life, and the twists and turns of trying to start a family. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I want to give you an insight into the things we often don’t talk about, especially when it comes to being a woman.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a deep connection to animals and nature. Growing up, I learned from my father and uncle the ways of the land—how to work with animals, how to respect nature, and how to appreciate the lifestyle we lead. This isn’t just a job; it’s a way of life. It’s what makes everything worth it.

My journey to motherhood is also a huge part of my story. My husband and I have been trying for over two years to start a family, and now we’re venturing into the world of IVF. Losing my father nearly three years ago shook me to the core. It taught me a hard lesson: life doesn’t wait, and you never know when your time will come. It’s changed the way I look at life, reminding me to embrace every moment and to stop putting things off.

Through this blog, I hope to share everything that life has thrown my way—from the everyday challenges on the station to the emotional journey of becoming a mother. I want you to feel like you’re not alone, whether you’re facing the ups and downs of rural life or the complexities of fertility struggles. Life doesn’t always go as planned, but we learn and grow along the way.

 Well, where has the time gone? It feels like these weeks have flown by faster than the river after rain. I can’t believe I’m already at 31 weeks on the baby counter! It’s been 15 days since egg collection… and to be honest, it feels like both a lifetime and the blink of an eye. So much has happened. So many emotions. And yet here I am, back at home, still not quite 100%, but slowly finding my way forward again. Let’s rewind a bit.   Missing in Action… for the Best Reason Ever If you’ve been wondering why I’ve been a little (okay… a lot) quiet lately, I promise I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth. I’ve just been riding a very different kind of rollercoaster — one that’s equal parts exhaustion, nausea, excitement, and pure magic.
